LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is the West Coast’s BIGGEST convention for baking, decorating, and sweets. Our 2016 show was totally sold out and attended by sugar artists, event planners, trendsetters, bloggers, press and celebrities from around the globe. For our 2017 show we’re proud to unveil our Decorators’ Showcase and Contests to benefit Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.
Sugar artists, help us assemble an extravagant display of your best decorated cakes, cookies, cake pops and blown sugar art. Your work will be seen by millions on social media and the web, plus our eager attendees, including our esteemed celebrity guests. A winner will be chosen in each category by a panel of judges and hosted by Duff Goldman.
This year there are four categories for your submissions:
– World Dessert Table Championships (Theme: Sci-fi)
– Superhero
– Wedding
– Bizarre
You may submit any edible sugar art to these three categories. The tables are 6 to 8 feet long and draped in white tablecloth and skirting. Each competitor will have a 2’ area for their display and a sign with their name/business name and social media profiles.
You must set up your work between 8:30 am – 9:30 am on Saturday, February 18th. You may dismantle it when the show closes on Sunday, February 19, or leave it for the maintenance crew to dispose of.
The general public will cast votes for their favorites works on Facebook. The winners in each category will receive awesome prizes and trophies!
This is a friendly, charitable showcase with a focus on supporting Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles and celebrating edible art — so beginners through professionals are welcome, as are team entries. Amateurs’ and professionals’ work will be grouped together as appropriate.

Does my entry include my ticket to LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show?
Yes, your entry fee includes your Professional Weekend Pass to the show. If you have already purchased a Professional Weekend Pass, you may use this pass for your assistant, or request for it to be transferred to a General Admission Weekend Pass for your friends or family.
How much of my entry fee benefits the Epilepsy Foundation?
All entry fees, minus the costs of setting up the tables (paid to the decorator) and printing the little signs for each entry, will go directly to Epilepsy Foundation.
Do I need to stay with my entry?
No! Please feel free to enjoy the show, or go back to your baking.
I’d like to enter your 3rd Annual Dessert Table Competition and other competitions. How can I do that?
The theme of the 3rd Annual Dessert Table Championships is the Sci-fi.
What is the theme for the showcase/competitions?
Wedding must be wedding-themed cakes or other sugar art. For all other categories — you have a lot of freedom to be creative! The Dessert Table Championship is using the Sci-fi theme.
What are the rules for Wedding Entry, Superhero or Bizarre Entry?
Your work must fit in a 2×2 area and there can be non-edible items. You may not use pre-made sugar flowers, lace, etc. All work should be done by the competitor. No team entries in the Superhero, Bizarre or Wedding Entry categories. Team entries are permitted in the World Dessert Table Championships (Sci-fi).

Children are our first priority. LATO dreams of a day when those least able to care for themselves aren’t forced to rummage through garbage for food. Originally created to build and renovate schools, LATO soon found itself helping families who struggle to feed themselves on a daily basis. Our volunteers travel to rural areas of Vietnam to distribute food, medicines, and clothing. We search for well-performing students who can’t afford to go to school and help them get the education that will open doors to a brighter future. On some projects, LATO works with other non-profits to provide scholarships and build or renovate schools.
In California, LATO helps refugee families of all nationalities start a new life. And while children are our future, our past is just as important. LATO’s nursing home visitation program bridges a generational and cultural gap by encouraging today’s youth to respect and honor our seniors. The city of Milpitas, CA recognized LATO’s efforts by naming the third Sunday in April “Honoring our Elders Day.” See photos of the work we’ve done at the bottom of our home page.
